The secret to a truly great floor lies in the underlay...
The underlay you choose is so important, because what lies beneath your flooring can make all the difference, providing an all-important layer of added insulation, noise reduction and comfort. Underlay also acts a shock absorber, which helps to prevent wear and tear, meaning your floor will last longer and remain in a better condition!
Few underlay brands can compete with the Tredaire range, which comes courtesy of Interfloor. Available in crumb rubber, sponge rubber, PU foam and polyurethane, it can accommodate various types of flooring, including underfloor heating, and has risen to become the number one consumer underlay brand in the UK.
Love your floors? Show them you care by choosing Tredaire underlay, available from Craycombe Carpets & Flooring.

Wilsons Underlay
Wilsons are the producers of ThermalStream® : a luxury carpet underlay for underfloor heating systems that incorporates flame-retardant foam (100% recycled) into its innovative design.
This impressive underlay has a TOG rating of 0.8! You might be wondering how TOG can be important on an underlay designed to transfer heat rather than keep heat in... Traditional testing (BS4745) uses a two-plate method to determine the TOG rating of the foam itself, which doesn’t take into account our specialist perforations designed to allow heat to transfer.
That’s where ISO 17025 Heat Transfer Performance testing (UKAS accredited) comes in – this takes into account the perforations and gives us a more targeted indication of the actual TOG rating.
